History:
- Kanu was born in Taiwan. We do not know under what circumstances she ended up in the US. We picked her up in Virginia. After 13 days at sea, we finally arrived in Cap-Pelé. An ocean trip that I will remember all my life. What beautiful memories for us, our families and our friends!
What impressed me the most when we met a previous couple of owners was that they had lived on board for the last 17 years. It was still their home. The lady was a seamstress and made cushion covers and pergolas of all kinds for sailboats. Her man was a woodworker and therefore did woodwork on boats as well. It was therefore easy for them to make a living by sailing from dock to dock aboard Kanu.
Comments:

One fact that really helped with the purchase of this boat was this extraordinary story of Kanu, unharmed, moored to a post on a now non-existent wharf in Louisiana after hurricane Katrina passed by. All around her was the wreckage of boats and the former dock floating everywhere. I figured I would most likely be safe aboard her for years to come. For the past two years, she has been safe in a warehouse in Shediac N-B, waiting to go on more adventures with new owners on board.
